Here’s my Deluxe Oceanview Cabin onboard Carnival Panorama: Details, Pictures and My Review!
I took a 7 night cruise on Carnival Panorama, one of the Vista class ships operated by Carnival Cruise Line. For this cruise, I opted to stay in a Deluxe Oceanview cabin, specifically cabin 1309. This is a relatively mid-ship cabin, but slightly more towards the front of the ship.
Carnival also class this category of stateroom as a ‘6M’ grade stateroom, so you may be looking at that grade if you’re currently considering booking one for yourself for a future cruise.

So, let’s get into it - let me show you around this cabin!
When you first walk in, this cabin does feel like most others out there, but there is one BIG difference that I’ll get to later in this post. You’ll find the usual storage on the right, bathroom on the left, there’s then a sofa, a large bed, and also a desk area with a vanity mirror. At the far end of the room, you’ll find a large window overlooking (hopefully for you…) the ocean. Here’s a few picture to help you visualise this description!
I found this room to be very well comfortable for the length of my cruise. I cruised in here as a solo passenger, but this room can be used to accommodate up to 4 guests. From speaking with various people onboard (including my cabin attendant), it would appear that the most common configuration for these rooms was 2 adults and 2 children, with the children then using the sofa, which would convert into beds for them.
You’ll see another child-friendly feature of this room shortly - stay tuned!
One of the highlights of this stateroom had to be the window at the far end. It was such a great size, and therefore allowed for ocean views directly from the bed, and it also allowed a huge amount of natural light to flood the room.
I could even sit in that recessed window section easily and comfortably. To give you an idea of the size, I’m just over 6 feet tall!
You’ve got a large television at the bottom of the bed, an individually controlled lamp on either side of the bed, then a sofa directly beside. On the other side of the room, you’ll find your workstation (or vanity area), with a stool tucked underneath the desk to sit on.
Another thing that I did really appreciate about this stateroom was the power outlets. In this room, you have European outlets, American outlets, and also USB outlets. There aren’t any micro USB outlets, but they’ve only really grown in popularity recently. The fact that regular USBs are in here is a great ‘thumbs up’ from me!

Inside the large cupboards beside the desk, you’ll find all of the usual amenities, including a refrigerator, a safe, a hairdryer, and an array of storage options: drawers, shelves and hanging space. I’d say you’ll have plenty of storage in here for your cruise, even if you are a family of 4 staying in this stateroom!
Let’s now move on to look at the part of this room that I found most unusual: the bathroom setup.
When you walk into the room, there are actually two doors on your left before you reach the bedroom area. Inside the first, you’ll find the main bathroom (and yes, it’s VERY blue…).
In your main bathroom, you’ve got everything that a cruise ship cabin bathroom normally has: a toilet, a sink, a shower, plenty of towels, electric shaver power outlets, a small washing line, and various toiletries attached to the wall, provided free of charge from Carnival Cruise Line.
Unfortunately, the really dated (in my opinion, anyway) blue sink unit (and blue floor!) is here, too. However, at the end of the day, it’s only a bathroom - no big deal! On the other side of the room from the above picture, there’s the shower enclosure. Annoyingly, the showers on this ship have shower curtains rather than the much more modern shower screen option.
People often wonder what it is about a shower curtain that I find so frustrating, and I’d ask you to picture the scene… You’re taking a shower on a moving ship, and the shower curtain is getting closer and closer to you. You get the picture - it’s going to spend a fair bit of time stuck to you…!
Leaving the main cabin bathroom behind, what’s in the second door before the bedroom in a Deluxe Oceanview cabin onboard Carnival Panorama? Well, it’s another room! In here, you’ve got another shower over a small half-sized bathtub, and a sink!
Now, the bath really is half-sized, so don’t get too excited thinking you can relax in here and live the life of luxury throughout your cruise - it’s intended more for young children. This will make it so much easier (and more efficient) to get the kids ready for the day (or for the night), as you have two rooms with showers, and one with a bath!
Just to prove my point about it being half-sized, below you can see a photo of the bath in place, and the second picture was me seeing how close I could get to reclining in there… Spoiler alert: I didn’t get very far!
So, would I recommend this cabin to you?
Well, if you’re looking for a mega luxurious week at sea, probably not. If you’re looking for a great value cabin, with plenty of space to relax, then this one could be for you! Most of this grade of cabin onboard Carnival Panorama are all the way down on Deck 1 of the ship, so it’s important you think about that if you are considering this cabin type.
If you’re happy on Deck 1, then you can benefit from the extra space that this cabin affords you! If you’re considering cruising with Carnival, check out this video, where I share my ‘top tips’ with you for cruising with this line:
